Year 5 visit Longleat

On Friday 7th of June 2019, Sycamore Class went to Longleat and had a wonderful experience. When we first arrived, we were very excited as we were about to go on a boat to Gorilla Island. Even though the weather was unpleasant, we didn’t stop us from enjoying the following activities. In the lake, there were sea lions that we were able to feed! During this, we saw two hippos bathing in the water. When we arrived at Gorilla Island, we saw two gorillas! After this, we went to the animal handling centre and had the opportunity to hold snakes, tarantulas etc., then we ate our lunch in the café. After that, we looked at all the animals including koalas, crocodiles, butterflies, maras, meerkats, armadillos and much more. Then we bought souvenirs from the gift shop. As a treat, we each had the chance to go on the rocky rhino ride! Our last experience was a journey through the safari on the coach. We saw zebras, giraffes, camels, ostriches, lions, tigers, cheetahs, wolves and many more. That was a great end to a day full of fun and thank you to all the teachers and helpers who volunteered and gave up their time to take us on a magnificent trip.
