  • Oak Class's Trip to Milestones

    Fri 11 Oct 2019

In Oak class they have been learning about how toys have changed over time and learning the differences and similarities between old and new toys. We all were very excited to visit Milestones as we knew they had lots of information on toys from the past! Throughout the day we took part in some exciting workshops. We played eye spy with some old teddy bears and we had a range of different old and new toys that we had to sort. We also learnt to play outdoor games including dominoes and hopscotch which we couldn’t wait to come back and show the rest of the children back at school.

  • Cross Country Competition

Wed 18 Sep 2019 Miss Panther
After school yesterday, 24 children from years 1-6 represented St Lawrence at the first Alton’s Schools Cross Country event held at Amery Hill. The children had to use their stamina and endurance to run a longer distance around the track set out on the field. I was extremely proud of them as they all showed resilience, determination and all demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship. The children represented St Lawrence amazingly! We all can not wait for the next Cross Country event in November where we hope to see even more children attending
  • Osmington Bay 2019

    Fri 13 Sep 2019

    Osmington Bay 2019

From the 9th September to the 13th September, Hawthorn Class had an amazing time at Osmington Bay. Everyone completed a range of activities including: kayaking, giant swing, rifle shooting, sailing, climbing and many more. All the staff that went with the children were proud to see the resilience and determination that every child demonstrated when completing the activities; they always strived to achieve their best (even if this meant going half way or making it all the way to the top). It was a great week and everyone enjoyed themselves, some even wanting to stay longer!

Please see our blog for more details and photos of our fantastic week.

  • Year R trip to Wellington Country Park

    Fri 19 Jul 2019
What a fantastic day we all had at Wellington Country Park! We started the day with a scavenger hunt where we had to look around the environment and collect natural materials. We then had to add them to our own leaf collage and we were very pleased with the results. Next we had a trip on the train where we saw fairy doors, fairy shops, woodland animals and hatching dinosaurs! We had a quick stop at the adventure playground before having our picnic lunches. After lunch we walked to the Enchanted Forest and laid down pebbles that we had decorated with words of encouragement by all the fairy doors. We had to be very quiet so we didn't disturb any fairies. Finally we had a walk to look at all the dinosaurs before having a final rest in the shade and catching our coach home. We were all so incredibly proud of the children's outstanding behaviour. (We even had a compliment from a member of the public.) Thank you Willow Class!

  • Visit from Rwanda's Diocesan Director of Education (Shyogwe Diocese)

    Thu 04 Jul 2019
We were very honoured to be visited by Mr Marcel Sebahire, the Diocesan Director of Education from the Shyogwe Diocese in Rwanda. He was visiting Mr Jeff Williams (our DDE) and visited some schools while he was over here. He visited Amery Hill in the morning and us in the afternoon. We were really interested to hear about the schools in Rwanda. He was also very keen to hear about our school and how our children learn. Our CW Crusaders spoke to him and then gave him a tour of our school, including the guinea pigs! It was lovely to see how proud they were of their school.
