St Lawrence CE Primary School

Science

Science is essential for helping children understand the world around them. At St Lawrence we aim to engage, inspire and develop enquiring minds through practical application. In our classrooms, we develop an environment where curiosity is fostered and questions are valued. We encourage children to ask their own questions and develop their own investigations.

Every science unit is accompanied by a knowledge organiser which lays out the key information for their learning. Throughout their St Lawrence journey, our learners will build upon their knowledge, skills and understanding of key concepts. We have a range of quality resources for the children to use to develop their scientific skills and knowledge.

Science is such an important subject as it has transformed our lives throughout history and is fundamental for our future. Children are taught about scientists throughout time such as Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei and Mary Anning who have helped us to understand and to shape our world.
