Health and Safety Officers
One child from each class is a Health & Safety Inspector. Their duties include:
- meeting a member of staff once a term to discuss any issues they have found around the school
- completing a Health & Safety walk with the Health & Safety Governor
- bringing issues to the attention of the whole school
An example of their impact:
One Health and Safety Inspector found that there were lots of children bringing in fashionable water bottles that were oversized. She talked to the whole school and showed them examples of a sensible sized water bottle and one that was too big. It was also mentioned in the school newsletter and so from September, all water bottles brought into school are normal sized.
