Year 4 have had a fantastic day being Vikings! They took part in a Viking battle using the shields they had made in class. They examined replica weapons and everyday items, learnt about Viking Gods and even recreated a Viking burial.
"It was a good experience and I enjoyed feeling how heavy the weapons were. I learnt lots of interesting facts!" (Gibson - Maple Class)
On 9th May Year 5 visited Southampton Mosque. We met an Imam who was very friendly and kind. We learnt that Muslims are not allowed to drink alcohol under any circumstance. All Muslims believe in Allah. This is Allah in Arabic. Muslims believe in lots of prophets such as Muhammed, Jesus and David. We learned LOTS of interesting facts such as Muslims are not allowed to eat pork because it was forbidden in The Holy Qur’an.
At the mosque there is a men’s prayer room and women’s prayer room. Instead of going to church on Sundays, like Christians, Muslims go to the mosque on Fridays.

Willow Class had a fantastic day on 1st May. We have been looking at farm animals and we were visited by Mill Cottage Farm. The children loved seeing a whole range of animals: pigs, piglets, goats, kids, ducks, turkeys, donkeys. They were taught how to look after the animals by Farmer Sarah and Farmer Holly. A great time was had by all.
