Year 3 Hindu Temple visit

On Wednesday 6th March Year Three visited a Hindu Temple in Southampton. The trip had been postponed due to weather conditions earlier in the year. The children were very excited but were not quite sure what to expect. When we arrived the children seemed disappointed. A Hindu temple is not an extravagant looking building from the outside. The children entered the temple and removed their shoes, placing them on specially designed shelves and entered the area of worship. We were privileged to watch a morning worship before exploring the temple further.  The children were fascinated with the ornate areas for some of the Gods. ‘It is so beautiful’ commented one of the boys. ‘I didn’t think it would be this beautiful’ commented one of the girls.
