Last day photo - Hawthorn have had such a lovely week. We can't wait to see you all very soon!
What have Year 6 been up to on their last full day?
Our last full day at Matchants Hill certainly did not disappoint! Hawthorn enjoyed problem-solving activities, trapeze and climbing today. The teamwork, encouragement and support shown by everyone was truly amazing.
All of the staff at PGL have commented on how well-mannered, kind and respectful our children are. They have made our school and their families incredibly proud.
This evening, we are looking forward to getting our groove on at the disco and showing off some impressive dance moves!
We are also hoping for a sunny Friday tomorrow and can't wait to see everyone and share stories from what has been an unforgettable week.
See you tomorrow parents!
What have Year 6 been up to on Day 3?
We can't believe it's Wednesday already – where is this week going?!
After a very well-deserved night's sleep, Hawthorn emerged this morning refreshed, recharged, and ready for another action-packed day.
Despite the rain doing its best to join in, it couldn't stop us conquering the Giant Swing, tackling the abseil, or exploring the sensory trail. We even managed to sneak in a sunny raft-building session at the end of the day which was a real treat. Fencing in the dry was also #amazing.
Parents, please don't panic about the weather ... After extensive scientific research, we have confirmed that sweets are an extremely effective method of boosting morale and distracting children from rain clouds. Further testing is ongoing.
We're also very excited to welcome Miss Withers after dinner this evening. We just hope she's ready for a full report on every swing, splash, sweet, and soggy adventure so far!
Hawthorn continues to have a fantastic time, come rain or shine!
What have Year 6 been up to on Day 2?
Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to avoid the rain today, but it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits!
Hawthorn enjoyed a fun-filled day climbing Jacob’s Ladder, practising survival skills, and building buggies.
We also made the most of the wet weather by relaxing and hiding from the rain in our dorm rooms.
We’re now looking forward to seeing Mrs Micklefield later, visiting the shop, and taking part in our evening activity together
What have Year 6 got up to on Day 1?
Year 6 arrived safely at Marchants Hill today and settled in well. We enjoyed a sunny lunch and spent some time playing games on the big field before taking part in an afternoon of activities.
The children had great fun on the zip wire, tried their hand at rifle shooting, and explored the sensory trail.
We have now had dinner, settled into our rooms, and celebrated Emma's birthday with some delicious cake (thank you to her parents!).
We're off to our evening activity now before settling down for the night. Please keep everything crossed for dry weather tomorrow!
